Consistory
Consistory manages the general affairs of the congregation, and holds monthly meetings the second Monday of the month. Consistory follows the By-Laws of Zion's congregation. At year end, they call for an annual congregational meeting to take place in November. At this time, new members are elected, the budget is presented for approval, and any other concerns are discussed. Consistory consists of the Pastor, six Elders, six Deacons, and one Youth Associate. Each Elder serves a term of two years. There is a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Asst. Treasurer, and Recording Financial
Secretary. Zion's is always looking for new faces to serve on Consistory.
Subcommittees
The following subcommittees are chaired by members of Consistory. Most of these groups hold their own periodic meetings. Anyone in the congregation is invited and encouraged to join any of these committees. You do not have to be a member of Consistory to do so.
Auxiliary Organization
The Auxiliary is responsible for the scheduling of the church calendar.
Church Growth and Evangelism
This committee's purpose is to find ways to help our congregation grow; in faith, in participation including our mission into the wider world and in sharing the message and welcome of our church. The members also take turns writing articles for "Listening in on the Evangeline" in the Tymes.
Finance
The Finance committee keeps track of the churches finances. They decide how and where to best invest funds.
Personnel
This committee is responsible for interviewing and hiring church personnel. They also monitor the performance of current personnel.
Property and Maintenance
The Property and Maintenance committee looks after the maintenance of the church building and property.
Worship and Ministry
The members of this committee schedule the teams of ushers along with head ushers for each team. They make the schedule for those assisting the financial secretary for each month. (counting the money collected during offering and making up the deposit slip) They also keep track of attendance numbers for each Sunday and who will change the hymn numbers in the sanctuary.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a group of women whose duties include preparing the altar each week for worship service, preparing the elements for communion, decorating the church on holidays, assisting with baptisms and delivering the flowers from the worship services to other members of the congregation who are home bound or ill. They are in need of new members. Anyone who is interested is welcome.
Bulletin Sponsorship
Anyone may sponsor a church bulletin in memory of a loved one or for a special announcement etc. by calling the church office to see which dates are available. The cost is $20.00.
Flowers
Anyone interested in having flowers placed in the sanctuary on a Sunday morning, should call Betty Leister. She can take care of ordering for you, and tell you which dates are available. Flowers can be placed in memory of someone or to mark a special occasion etc.
Prayer Chain
Zion's has a group of people who offer up daily prayer for those in need. Names of the individuals for prayer requests may be given to the group to be included in the chain.
Use of Facilities
The church facilities are available to the congregation for personal use. For example: wedding receptions, showers, and funerals. Please check with the office for available dates.
Ushers
The Head Usher shows up early on Sunday to prepare the sanctuary for the worship service, greets the worshipers, and hands out the bulletins and any other materials for the service. The Head Usher also presents the offering before the altar during the service and then cleans up and locks up when the service is over. On Communion Sundays additional ushers are on hand to assist in serving the bread and wine. If you interested in helping with any of these duties, contact the church office for more details.

Everyone is welcome to visit our church library conveniently located in our Chapel Building. Many enjoyable books are available for individuals and families to borrow. Books for young children are housed in a separate bookcase outside the church office. There are many books available for pre-teens and teens alike. The adult bookcases offer an assortment of fiction, non-fiction, and reference books.
